Just saw “The Name Of The Doctor”. Massive, huge, freakin’ spoilers and speculation.
I’m not watching anymore because of the unskippable ads. I really don’t like the tone of the little thing telling me it detected my adblocker. They can make money off DVDs or something. Honestly I don’t care if they do or not. They won’t make any off me this way : ). They hated SOPA so much when it threatened their little business model, but don’t care if their own product becomes full of the same commercial crap that makes Hollywood so unpopular (nor do they care about free speech online; see CISPA, total lack of response to).
tl;dr: Son, I Am Disappoint.
Good to know I wasn’t going crazy and Tgwtg Secrets is still full of entitled stupid fans. All is good with the world again.

And also: we fought SOPA because it was a bad law rife for abuse. Maybe we weren’t as loud about CISPA, but we were against it, too for the same reasons. And it got defeated.
Also: Hollywood is unpopular for A LOT of reasons, milado - not just commercialism. The problem is not making money. There is nothing wrong with making money.

You’re all lazy, entitled assholes.
News flash, idiots… most of the big named producers on Channel Awesome (Doug, Linkara, Brad, ect) do not have other jobs besides doing their videos. Channel Awesome IS their job. It’s how they support themselves. It’s how they pay for things like food, electricity, shelter and bad movies to watch.
When you block ads, you make it so that they get less money. You are quite literally taking money out of their pocket.
Fighting SOPA wasn’t about protecting piracy. It was about stopping overreach and a threat to freedom of speech.
They do not make enough money off of DVD sales to pay for their apartments, food and electricity. These guys and gals are quite literally living off of the money they get from making these videos, so don’t be a asshole and just watch the 30 second ad.

“What worries me about Yahoo! buying Tumblr is how it would choose to incorporate the website into its email and homepage features. One of the reasons why Tumblr is so unique is because it’s a niche market. By adding more users who don’t fit into this niche, it would make it more difficult for communities to develop within Tumblr, and Tumblr would have to change to accommodate these new users. No one is going to mind Yahoo! buying the website and gaining a few extra million dollars per year from the minimal advertising; what we will be upset with is if a company like Yahoo! then changes the website to increase casual users and decrease dedicated users. Yahoo! would gain nothing by losing this “cool” group of bloggers in an age group they so desperately want to reach, so they must cater to these individuals by leaving the website exactly as is.” - houseoftombombadil
As much as is does sound like a load of bullshit for someone to buy Tumblr, it’s a possibility. I Personally think it should stay independent and I hope David Karp keeps a hold of it like his own child. Or we make enough noise to where such major changes (if bought) will not happen. I would hate to see Tumblr turned into an advertising dump.We’re not a ‘hip fad group’ to be marketed to. I hate the fact that’s all we look like to businesses in the end.reblogging again for this ^

I will reblog this… but guys… if Yahoo is really offering 1.1 Billion dollars, I don’t think having a bunch of people reblog this is going to stop tumblr from selling. :/ I mean… yeah. Call me a pessimist, but a billion dollars is a billion f-ing dollars.

I was 100% sure that Killian wasn't even involved with the Ten Rings in the first place. I thought that he just used their logo to make his facade seem more plausible?
That is certainly possible… but that doesn’t change the fact that “Ten Rings” was a pretty clear reference to the rings The Mandsrin wears in the comics. So my disappointment is still the same. Iron Man and Iron Man 2 both hinted that the Ten Rings were secretly involved in what was happening and the reasonable assumption was that Mandarin was behind it all… and we now know Mandarin was just a goofy actor instead of the badass arch nemesis he could and should have been.
