I previously tried doing something that kinda shows off the similarities between the Water Land theme from Super Mario Bros. 3 with the Fairy Fountain theme from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and while a portion in the middle was sort of a mash-up, I dunno if I can call the whole thing in its entirety a mash-up.
This time, however, I feel I have created a true mash-up. For the sake of the tunes going better together, I decided to use the All-Stars version of the Water Land theme, as well.
Man of Steel had its problems, but it was a good movie.
… well, the sequel is underway. It’s going to basically be “Batman vs Superman.”
… and it’s going to suck.
For one thing, instead of doing “World’s Finest”, they’re doing Batman VERSUS Superman.
For another? They now have Frank Miller on board.
… Frank Miller is insane. I know he has his fans, and I know people will throw “The Dark Knight Returns” at me, but in the time since he wrote that comic, he has lost his mind.
Frank wrote “All Star Batman & Robin”, a series where Batman is a violent psychopath, murders cops, kidnaps Dick Grayson, and then punches Alfred because Alfred dared to feed Dick Grayson.
Frank is also the man who is incapable of writing female characters. Every female character Frank writes is either a prostitute or simply a strawman so he can complain about feminism.
Because THAT’S what people want in their comics, right, Frank? No… who needs superheroes and characterization; what we want is a Fox News report.
If you think I’m exaggerating… I’m not. Vicky Vale spends 90% of ASBAR in her underwear, talking about how much she wants to fuck Bruce Wayne. Because that’s what a professional journalist does all day, in Frank’s mind.
He also turned Selina Kyle into a prostitute. Literally. Because, you know, being a kick-ass jewel thief and martial artist is lame. What people want is sex for money. Ugh.
He turned Black Canary and Wonder Woman into man-hating violent psychopaths, who only show up in his comics so he can complain about feminists.
And it’s not just female characters he gets wrong. He can’t write Superman.
Let’s be clear here. EVERY time Superman shows up in Frank Miller’s stuff, it’s so he can be one-upped by Batman, or even beaten senseless by Batman.
… and he’s helping to write the SUPERMAN SEQUEL MOVIE.
You’ve got a guy who does not understand Superman, and who HATES Superman, writing a SUPERMAN MOVIE.
Frank Miller wrote one good comic in the 1980’s. Since then, basically everything he’s done has been self-righteous crap.
He basically turned Batman into his own masturbatory fantasy, and uses comics as an excuse to spew his political beliefs, which are so insanely out of the mainstream that it’s pretty terrifying to think he’s still so popular.
I’m just… really not happy that Frank is going to be involved in the next Superman movie… especially since Frank hates Superman.

You don’t have enough badges to hit me!
Just saw “The Name Of The Doctor”. Massive, huge, freakin’ spoilers and speculation.
I’m not watching anymore because of the unskippable ads. I really don’t like the tone of the little thing telling me it detected my adblocker. They can make money off DVDs or something. Honestly I don’t care if they do or not. They won’t make any off me this way : ). They hated SOPA so much when it threatened their little business model, but don’t care if their own product becomes full of the same commercial crap that makes Hollywood so unpopular (nor do they care about free speech online; see CISPA, total lack of response to).
tl;dr: Son, I Am Disappoint.
Good to know I wasn’t going crazy and Tgwtg Secrets is still full of entitled stupid fans. All is good with the world again.
Too long to read: great moderating TGWTGS! :D
Telling us you’re not watching because you can’t use adblock is like saying you’re no longer gonna watch your borrowed copy of Glee. You didn’t pay for it in the first place.
tl;dr: Entitlement: You’re soaking in it!
And also: we fought SOPA because it was a bad law rife for abuse. Maybe we weren’t as loud about CISPA, but we were against it, too for the same reasons. And it got defeated.
Also: Hollywood is unpopular for A LOT of reasons, milado - not just commercialism. The problem is not making money. There is nothing wrong with making money.
tl;dr: Read the damn thing. Reading is good for you.
I just wanna comment on all the people who are complaining about the unskippable ads.
You’re all lazy, entitled assholes.
News flash, idiots… most of the big named producers on Channel Awesome (Doug, Linkara, Brad, ect) do not have other jobs besides doing their videos. Channel Awesome IS their job. It’s how they support themselves. It’s how they pay for things like food, electricity, shelter and bad movies to watch.
When you block ads, you make it so that they get less money. You are quite literally taking money out of their pocket.
Fighting SOPA wasn’t about protecting piracy. It was about stopping overreach and a threat to freedom of speech.
They do not make enough money off of DVD sales to pay for their apartments, food and electricity. These guys and gals are quite literally living off of the money they get from making these videos, so don’t be a asshole and just watch the 30 second ad.
SHARE TO SAVE TUMBLR!
- Let’s try and get 100k notes
A review by one of the folks sums it up perfectly:
“What worries me about Yahoo! buying Tumblr is how it would choose to incorporate the website into its email and homepage features. One of the reasons why Tumblr is so unique is because it’s a niche market. By adding more users who don’t fit into this niche, it would make it more difficult for communities to develop within Tumblr, and Tumblr would have to change to accommodate these new users. Tumblr as a website is not the kind that you can sign up for in a day and be on your way. It is a website crafted so that you can immediately post but must spend several weeks, sometimes even months, to build a community. With new users who would not be willing to spend time growing a community, Tumblr would have to be changed, which would alienate its current users. Those users have spent time and effort to make Tumblr what it is today, and they are the ones who spend time on the website daily. A user who is checking onto Tumblr because it’s attached to their homepage is not going to be as strong of a user nor as dedicated. By changing the website to suit this new user, you would lose the strong users while building an undedicated usership.
To any website that would think of buying Tumblr, they must understand that it is a website that cannot be changed to make it more user friendly to a casual blogger. I think that many Tumblr users would be less worried about a buy-out if they were promised that their communities and ways of using Tumblr would not be changed. No one is going to mind Yahoo! buying the website and gaining a few extra million dollars per year from the minimal advertising; what we will be upset with is if a company like Yahoo! then changes the website to increase casual users and decrease dedicated users. Yahoo! would gain nothing by losing this “cool” group of bloggers in an age group they so desperately want to reach, so they must cater to these individuals by leaving the website exactly as is.” - houseoftombombadilAs much as is does sound like a load of bullshit for someone to buy Tumblr, it’s a possibility. I Personally think it should stay independent and I hope David Karp keeps a hold of it like his own child. Or we make enough noise to where such major changes (if bought) will not happen. I would hate to see Tumblr turned into an advertising dump. We’re not a ‘hip fad group’ to be marketed to. I hate the fact that’s all we look like to businesses in the end.
reblogging again for this ^
*gets out squirt bottle* No! Bad Yahoo! Get away from Tumblr! Bad!
I will reblog this… but guys… if Yahoo is really offering 1.1 Billion dollars, I don’t think having a bunch of people reblog this is going to stop tumblr from selling. :/ I mean… yeah. Call me a pessimist, but a billion dollars is a billion f-ing dollars.
